Mind Around Us, Part 2

The second lecture looks at sentience, or consciousness in a broad sense. What is the relation between minimal cognition, which is present in non-neural organisms, and minimal sentience? The question is approached through discussions of self-hood, subjectivity, and organism/environment interfaces. On the way I'll also look at recent work on self-organization. The two lectures will be more like one long lecture broken into two, and I am not sure where the boundary will be.
