Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop led by Prof. Zoë Johnson King (University of Southern California)
This workshop aims at improving our teaching practices by understanding how we could accommodate the differences in prior knowledge and ability among students, facilitate progress in learning, close gaps between our vision of a course’s goals and the students’ vision, and promote active learning. Professor Johnson King has run the workshop at NYU and Rutgers. We think this is a great opportunity to learn about pedagogy from a philosopher and among other philosophers. Often the pedagogy workshops organized at Stanford lack this targeted approach, which could help us address questions specific to the teaching of philosophy.
