Commencement

Stanford Commencement Weekend will be held from June 11-14, 2026.

The Department of Philosophy will host its diploma ceremony and reception on Sunday, June 14, in the Philosophy Corner of the Main Quad immediately following the main university ceremony in the stadium. The Philosophy ceremony will begin with a reception at 11:30 AM in the arcade in front of buildings 90 and 100.  Light lunch and beverages will be available to philosophy graduates and their families. The diploma ceremony will start at 12:30 PM and conclude at approximately 2:00 PM.

If you plan to bring a sign or banner, please stand at the back or side of the event so that all attendees can see the presentations.

This will be a day of celebration, as such, disruptive activities will not be tolerated.

Please note, photos will be taken at the event and may be posted on the department’s website at philosophy.stanford.edu or distributed to graduates via a secure server. By attending this event, you consent to be photographed. Please notify a staff member if you do not wish to be photographed; we will do our best to accommodate your request.
