Christopher Menzel

Visiting Scholar

After receiving my PhD from the University of Notre Dame under Penelope Maddy and Alvin Plantinga for a dissertation on the metaphysics of set theory, I spent two wonderful years as a postdoc at Stanford's Center for the Language and Information. I have since spent my career at Texas A&M University, with stints at CSIRO Melbourne, Saarland University, the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, and the University of Notre Dame Center for the Philosophy of Religion. Thanks to a development leave from Texas A&M, things have come full circle and I'm back at Stanford as a visitor in the philosophy department, where I am working on a book on the logical and metaphysical foundations of modality. On a more personal level, I have two children, two cats (currently under a friend's care back in Texas), and I am an avid road cyclist.
