Harald Wiltsche

Visiting Professor

Harald A. Wiltsche is Professor of Philosophy of Science at Linköping University, Sweden. His work brings phenomenology into close conversation with philosophy of physics and epistemology, using it as a set of analytic tools for understanding how scientists perceive, intervene, and reason when theoretical frameworks strain against lifeworld categories. He is especially interested in conceptual change in the physical sciences and in foundational questions in quantum mechanics, including measurement, probability, and the epistemic status of modern modelling practices.

He previously held positions at the University of Graz, the University of Toronto, and Stanford (as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in 2017), and has been a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He is editor of The Oxford Handbook of Phenomenology of Science (forthcoming, 2026).
