Hyunseop Kim
I am a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Seoul National University, where I teach ethics and serve as an active member in running its Philosophy-Politics-Economics program. I received a Ph.D. in philosophy from New York University and was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Center for Ethics in Society at Stanford University. I served as a Judge in the Republic of Korea.
My primary areas of research are moral, political and legal philosophy. My recent publications appeared in Philosophy, Economics & Philosophy, Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Mind, Political Theory, and International Theory. I am writing a book on democratic backsliding and articles on how we humans ought to relate to LLMs and how to improve early childhood education (my 5- and 3-year-old daughters motivate me to work on this topic, I confess) to implement Rawlsian property-owning democracy.
