(BA, Philosophy, UNC '13)
My research focuses on topics of speech act theory within the philosophy of language, with applications to questions involving action, epistemology, and, increasingly, ethics. My main interests pertain to the nature of disagreements, particularly acts of expressing disagreement and the sorts of norms governing these actions. I am also interested in the nature of assertion more generally, and the relationship between the act of asserting and our general practices of reasons-giving. I also have serious side interests in aesthetics and college basketball.
