Based on the Emmy award-winning television movie by Reginald Rose, Twelve Angry Men examines the deliberations of 12 jurors determining the fate of a sixteen year old boy standing trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. While the odds appear bleakly against the boy, one juror forces a reinvestigation of the facts. As a result, tempers get short and arguments grow heated as the jurors work to reach their final verdict. This production, featuring an entirely non-male identified cast, explores the gender politics present within the jury room. The performance will be followed by a panel on Race and Implicit Jury Bias on Thursday May 5th, a panel on Women and Representation on Friday May 6th, and a Talkback with the Cast on Saturday May 6th.
This event is co-sponsored with Theater Lab.
